Nectar of the River Cactus
While painting this piece, I could still feel the cactus spines in my skin – little reminders of the fruit I had just eaten. It was sweet, wild, and not easy to reach.
At some point, colour started to feel like taste. Green was sharp and fresh, red felt hot like the sun, and blue reminded me of cool water.
Every brushstroke was connected to something I had felt or tasted.
For me, colour is something you carry inside, like a flavour you remember long after tasting.
